Telly Stern was the owner of Triple Ace Club. He paid Stan and his comrade to kill Marv while he was looking for Goldie's murderer.
The Hard Goodbye[]
When Marv made Stan talk, he gave Stern's name. The next day, Marv found him in order to find out who wanted him (and Goldie) dead. Before killing him Telly gave him the guy who hired him, Tommy.
