The following are noted differences between the Sin City graphic novels and the films. Please add any differences between the two that you noticed....

The Customer is completely in black and white throughout The Customer is Always Right. The Customer's hair is longer and her eyes are green. She wears a red dress and red lipstick.
Burt Shlubb is seen near the beginning of That Yellow Bastard. Burt Shlubb's clothing is different. The actor portraying Burt is much thinner than the comic character.
The sheets and pillows in the motel are black and white. In the film, the sheet and pillows are red.
The Goldie character is completely monochromatic. In the film, Goldie's entire body is seen color, revealing her blonde hair and red lipstick.
After visiting Lucille, Marv goes to retrieve Gladys. This is seen in the extended version of the film.
The characters seen in Kadie's are monochromatic. Shellie , Nancy, Dwight and Marv are seen in color.
After killing Stan, Marv goes home. This is not seen in the film.
Marv's medicine bottle is in black and white. In the film, it is in color.
After knocking out Kevin's pet, Marv finds a large bone and a high-heel shoe. After knocking out Kevin's pet, Marv finds a large bone but no shoe.
Marv's face is covered with blood, but the blood is in black & white.

The red blood on Marv's face is seen. (In the barn and in the Old Town)

Gail wears her masks when Wendy interrogated Marv. Gail is not seen wearing her mask.
The explosion at the farmhouse is seen in black and white. You can see the color of the explosion.
The Cardinal character is completely monochromatic. The Cardinal's eye's are seen in color.
When Marv kills The Cardinal, his blood that splatters on Marv's face is monochromatic. The color of the blood of The Cardinal is seen in the film.
In The Big Fat Kill, Shellie is wearing Dwight's white shirt only; revealing her breasts. In the film, Brittany Murphy wears a black bra, covering her breasts.
A nude Dwight is seen. No nudity is involved with the Dwight character.
Jack's car is seen in black and white. Jackie Boy's car is blue in the film.
Dwight's converse and car is in black and white. Dwight's converse and car is red in shown to be red in the film.
The sirens of the police car is shown to be in black and white. The sirens of the police car is shown to be red.
The Becky character is completely in black and white. Becky's eyes are blue in the film.

The Miho character is completely in black and white.

While keeping an eye on Becky, as lightning flashes, you can see the red and blue color of Miho's clothing.
When Miho kills Jackie Boy, the blood splatter on her face is shown to be in black and white. In the film, you can see the red blood on her face.
Manute's other eye is in black and white. Manute's eye is gold in the film.
Davis is brought in to torture Gail This role is executed by Manute.
As Gail bites Becky's neck, the blood color is seen to be in black and white. You can see Becky's red blood.
Becky is killed in the alley. She survives the gunfight at the end of the story although she is shot in the arm. At the end of the film Becky is seen at a hospital with a cast on her arm talking to her mother on her mobile phone. As she enters the elevator The Colonel is there gets in, says her name and offers her a cigarette. Becky tells her mother that she loves her and hangs up knowing the Colonel is there to kill her.
Manute and Schutz is killed in the alley. Manute and Schutz escapes the alley, only to be killed by Miho. (This is seen in the extended version of the film.
When Liebowitz tortures John, the blood on his body is shown to be in black and white. When Liebowitz tortures John, the blood on his body is shown to be red.
When John is in Kadie's, the entire club is seen in black and white. When John is in Kadie's, the characters are seen in color. The scene fades back to black and white as John realizes that something is wrong.
Nancy is topless while dancing as John is in the bar. No nudity involving the film character.
John is seen nude when the Yellow Bastard has captured Nancy and had John tiptoeing on the table. John is seen wearing underwear.

No signs of blood is seen on Marv in Just Another Saturday Night. As Marv gets up, you can see red blood on his face.
Marv mentions not talking his medicine. Marv mentions not talking his medicine and he takes out the bottle and tries emptying the rest into his mouth.
As the first flashback is seen, Nancy is seen dancing in Kadie's. Her outfit is different and her hairstyle is different that what she is seen with in the first film.
Marv sits near the stage. Marv sits further away; he is not sitting where he was in the first film.
Marv sees as Nancy jumps offstage to kiss John. This scene is not seen in the film.
After throwing the lit cigarette on the gas-filled ground, causing the cars to explode, Marv jumps to the down-left of the crash site. Marv jumps to the right.
The explosion is in black and white. The color of the flames are seen.
After signalling his old neighbors to shoot arrows at the remaining frat boys, Marv walks up the stairs and gives a signal and a frat boys is hanged just before saying "Please." The frat boy says "Please." and tells Marv that he has a trust fund and can pay just before signally a neighbor to hang him.
In A Dame To Kill For, the Joey Canelli character is a slightly overweight man. The Joey in the film, portrayed by Ray Liotta, is much more thin.
The Sally character is completely in black and white. Part of Sally's clothing is pink in the film. He hair is much straighter as well.
Sally is not seen as she asks Dwight for a ride. Sally takes off her wig, revealing her true hair color to be red, and then asks Dwight for a ride.
As Dwight and Sally head for Old Town, Wendy is seen in her car, driving right pass them. The scene with Wendy is not featured in the film.
Old Town is seen in black and white. A few neon signs are shown in color in the film.
After dropping off Sally, he heads to Agamemnon's. The Agamemnon character is not seen in the film.
After Agamemnon's, he goes home. After dropping off Sally, he heads to Gloria and her lawyer, to them the pictures. (Gloria is not featured in the graphic novel, in the film, she is portrayed by Eloise DeJoria).
Dwight was at work when he got the call from Ava. Dwight was home when he got the call from Ava.
Dwight heads to Kadie's to meet with Ava. Nancy was not seen in the bar. In the film, Nancy is seen onstage.
Ava's clothing and appearance is completely monochromatic. Ava's coat is revealed to be blue.
Ava has her hair up to her shoulders. Her hair is a little longer in the film.
When he spent all night thinking about Ava, he is in the nude. No nudity with the Dwight in the film.
Dwight first meets Damien after getting caught by the guards in the Lord estate. The scene with Damien is not featured.
After getting kicked out of the moving vehicle, Dwight calls Agamemnon to pick him up. Dwight is kicked out of the moving vehicle in-front of his apartment building.
Dwight tries to hold on to Manute's car, but to no avail. Dwight does not attempt to hold on to the car.
Dwight then goes to Kadie's here Nancy is seen semi-nude onstage. No nudity involving Nancy in the film.
Marv encounter some Neo-Nazis at Kadie's. This is not seen in the film.
Marv is seen fighting with Manute. Marv is seen fighting with Manute and the scene where he takes out one of his eyes is added to the film.
Ava is completely colorless in the scene where she speaks to Dwight after he kills Damien. Her eyes are revealed to be green and she wears red lipstick.
Ava is seen laying next to Damian's dead body as she calls the police. This is not seen in the film.
The sirens of the police cars are seen in black and white. The sirens of the cars are seen in color.
The flames of the flamethrower is in black and white. The flames of Flamethrower's gun is revealed.
Miho is seen with the other Old Town Girls as Marv and Dwight enters Old Town. Miho is seen on a rooftop.
Miho is seen wearing a more traditional suit in the graphic novel. Her outfit is different in the film.
Mort's wife is African-American. She is Caucasian in the film.
Agamemnon is interviewed by Bob and Mort in the comic. The character Agamemnon is not in the film.
Wendy and Goldie wears the same outfit, making them much more identical to each other. Their outfits differ in the film and Goldie's skin is revealed.
Gail wears a black tank top as Dwight is questioned by the twins. She is wearing a dominatrix-like outfit in this scene.
Mort and Bob then questioned the owner of the building where he was staying. This character is not in the film.
Shellie is questioned by Bob and Mort. Frank Miller and Robert Rodriguez retired the character of Shellie from the film version instead of recasting her out of respect to the late Brittany Murphy of Sin City (2005).
The car that is used by Dwight and Gail to follow Manute to the Lord mansion is seen black and white. The car is shown to be red in color.
Gail knocks out Boogard by punching him. Miho kills him by slitting his throat.
Miho kills a few guards of the Lord residence. Extra body-count by Miho.
Ava is next to the hot-tub as the "specialist" arrive. Ava is seen in the hot-tub as the "specialist" arrive.
The explosion caused by Gail is in black and white. The explosion caused by Gail is in color.
Miho jumps off the roof and stabs both of Manute's hands with her swords. Manute is shot by Ava.
Ava and Dwight are the last character seen in the comic. After killing Ava, Gail and Miho are the last seen as stand behind Dwight.

  • Certain scenes were not adapted in the movie.
  • Some minor camera angle changes and changes in script can be detected as well.
