Blue Eyes is the second story of Lost, Lonely & Lethal and later republished as the sixth story of Booze, Broads & Bullets.
It is the first appearance of Delia.
Story
It begins as a man named Jim notices someone he assumes is a hitman following him. He runs and jumps a fence, passes next to Miho beating down a thug, and steals a car. The hitman then calls a limo. Manute is the driver and they start following him.
Jim runs into Kadie's, and passes next to Agamemnon, Nancy and Gail (as she tells Shellie that Dwight is alive and recovering in Old Town). He sits beside Marv and orders a drink from Josie when the hit man mysteriously appears briefly nearby ordering "stoli martini, two olives". Then he is confronted by Delia, his ex-flame. Marv provides some comic relief. Jim convinces Delia to leave with him. The hit man has disappeared; Josie responds that she saw nobody
Marv then steals his drink, reasoning that it would have gone to waste otherwise.
They go back to his place and make love. She then attacks him, and explains that this is her test. She wants to become a hit woman, and she must first kill the only man she ever loved. After killing Jim, the Colonel appears who was none other than the 'hit man' who had been following Jim. He gives her an assignment and she takes on the name 'Blue Eyes', which is what Jim used to call her.
Blue Eyes is shown to take place at the same time as A Dame To Kill For, as part of the story shows Gail telling Shelley what to tell the police about Dwight. The story also has brief appearances by many characters, including Miho, Agamemnon and Manute.
